Once upon a timea dream called…
A dream born at the very top of a cliff. There, where sky, sea and land embrace in silence, lies a corner of Formentera where time seems to stand still. A place where the sound of the wind, the murmur of the Mediterranean and the island’s endless light remind you that true luxury has never been noise, but calm. When I found this house, it was tired. Wounded by the passing years, the salt and the wind. It had lost part of its splendour, yet it kept intact the one thing no renovation can create: its soul. One instant was enough to understand that I was not standing before an ordinary home. I was standing before an extraordinary place, with an energy hard to explain and a beauty impossible to imitate. It only needed someone to believe in it again. That is how “Can Roque” was born.
Not as a real-estate project. Nor as a house destined for holiday rental. Can Roque was born with a single idea: to share a place I fell in love with from the very first moment, and to let others live the same emotion I felt when I discovered it. Because staying at Can Roque is not merely about enjoying an exceptional villa facing the sea. It is about living an authentic experience. An experience designed for those seeking something more than a holiday. I want everyone who crosses this door to discover the true essence of Formentera. The one that remains far from mass tourism. That of hidden coves, sunset walks, endless after-dinner conversations, the scent of the pines, the sound of the sea on waking, and nights when the stars seem close enough to touch. That is why our work begins long before your arrival. We design every stay in a completely personalised way, so that each guest can live the island as a truly privileged one. A stone path descends gently from the house to the Mediterranean, giving walking access to one of Formentera’s most authentic and best-preserved coves: Cala en Baster. Far from the busier beaches, this corner is known and cherished by those who truly know the island. Its transparent waters, the completely natural surroundings and the feeling of reaching the sea straight from the house make every swim an experience hard to forget.
